Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 4, 2026
Last updated: October 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information ldnddev, LLC ("ldnddev," "we," "us," or "our") collects when you visit https://www.ldnddev.com/ (the "Site") or contact us, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it in plain English.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

ldnddev, LLC is a small, home-based Drupal and WordPress web development studio in Chelsea, Alabama, owned by Jared Lyvers. We are the business that decides how and why the personal information described here is used (the "controller" under laws such as the GDPR).

2. Scope

This policy covers the Site and the ways you contact us through it (the contact form, email, and phone). It does not cover the websites of our clients, or the personal information we handle while building or hosting those sites under a separate agreement. Those projects are governed by the agreement and the privacy policy of the client's own site.

3. Information we collect

3.1 Information you give us

  • Contact form. The Site's contact page (/contact-us/) shows a form provided by Cognito Forms, a third-party form service. The information you type into the form is sent to Cognito Forms and delivered to us. The form fields are set up inside our Cognito Forms account.
  • Email and phone. If you email [email protected], use the "Let's Talk" email link, or call or text (205) 422-1737, we receive your email address or phone number, the content of your message, and any details you choose to share.

Please do not send us sensitive information (such as Social Security numbers, payment card numbers, passwords, or health information) through the form or by email. We do not need it to respond to an inquiry.

3.2 Information collected automatically

  • Analytics, only if you accept. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you consent to Google tracking. If you click Accept, the Site loads Google Tag Manager, which runs a Google Analytics 4 (GA4) tag. GA4 collects information such as the pages you view, the page URL and title, how you arrived (referrer), approximate location (derived from your IP address, such as country or city), browser and device type, operating system, screen size, language, and the date, time, and length of your visit. If you click Decline, or do not answer, we do not load Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics.
  • Technical and server data. Like any website, our hosting and security providers receive technical data whenever your browser requests a page, including your IP address, the pages and files requested, date and time, browser and device information, and referring page. This data is used to deliver the Site, keep it secure, and diagnose problems.
  • Resources from other companies. Images on every page are delivered by Cloudinary, an image hosting and delivery service, and load whether or not you click Accept on the banner. When your browser requests an image, Cloudinary receives your IP address, browser and device information, the image URL, and the referring page. Apart from Cloudinary images, Google Analytics (only after you click Accept), and the Cognito Forms contact form, the Site's pages do not load scripts or fonts from other companies (see Section 5).

We do not run a newsletter or email signup on the Site, we do not use advertising or remarketing pixels, and we do not use social media tracking pixels or embedded maps or videos.

4. Cookies, local storage, and analytics

4.1 What the Site stores in your browser

ItemSet byPurposeDuration
dd_cookie_consent (browser local storage, not a cookie)ldnddevRemembers whether you clicked Accept or Decline so we do not ask on every page. It never leaves your browser.Until you clear your browser's site data
Google Analytics cookies (for example _ga and _ga_<ID>)Google, only after you click AcceptDistinguish visitors and sessions so we can count visits and see which pages are usefulSet by Google; commonly up to about 2 years
__cf_bmCloudflare (our CDN and security provider)Short-lived bot-management cookie that helps protect the Site from automated abuseAbout 30 minutes
Cookies or storage from the Cognito Forms embed on /contact-us/Cognito FormsOperate the form and prevent spam or abuseSet by Cognito Forms

The Cognito Forms embed and the security cookie are used to provide and protect the Site and the contact form you ask for, so they are not controlled by the Accept/Decline banner.

4.2 Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager

We use GA4 (measurement ID G-182EXQ0S2R, delivered through Google Tag Manager container GTM-T6QJCMC) to understand how many people visit the Site and which pages they read, so we can improve the content and the Site. We use it for measurement only, not for advertising campaigns or remarketing.

GA4 does not log or store full IP addresses. It uses your IP address to work out approximate location and then discards it. Google acts as our service provider for analytics. Google's own use of information is described at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and in the Google Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Our GA4 data retention setting is 14 months.

4.3 How to opt out

  • Use the banner. Click Decline when the banner appears. If you already chose Accept and want to change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser settings (this removes our saved choice and the Google cookies), then reload the Site and choose Decline.
  • Block or delete cookies. Most browsers let you block cookies and local storage or delete existing ones. Blocking all cookies may affect parts of the Site.
  • Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google offers a free add-on that stops Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
  • Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. See Section 11.

5. Third-party services we use

We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Site and respond to you. They may use the information only to provide their services to us, subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Images, scripts, and fonts. Images on every page are delivered by Cloudinary and load whether or not you click Accept on the banner. Apart from those images, Google Analytics (only after you click Accept), and the Cognito Forms contact form on /contact-us/, the Site's pages do not load scripts or fonts from other companies. The Site's fonts are served from our own hosting, so no visitor information is sent to a font provider when pages display.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our agreements, to protect our rights, safety, or the security of the Site, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.

6. How we use information

  • To respond to your questions and project inquiries, and to prepare proposals or estimates you ask for.
  • To provide, operate, and secure the Site and the contact form, and to prevent spam and abuse.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used (only if you accept analytics) and to improve its content, design, and performance.
  • To keep records of our communications and business, and to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
  • To enforce our rights and handle disputes.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use it for advertising or sell it to data brokers.

7. Legal bases (visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland)

If GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, we rely on:

  • Consent for Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Section 4.3). Withdrawing does not affect the processing done before you withdrew.
  • Legitimate interests for operating, securing, and delivering the Site, and for responding to the messages you send (our interest is running a safe, working website and a small business).
  • Steps at your request before entering a contract when you ask us for a quote or proposal, and performance of a contract if we later work together.
  • Legal obligation where we must keep records or respond to lawful requests.

8. How long we keep information

  • Contact form, email, and phone messages: we keep them for as long as needed to respond and manage any resulting relationship, and then for 2 years after our last contact. If we do work together, project and billing records are kept as long as needed for tax, accounting, and legal purposes.
  • Google Analytics data: kept according to our GA4 retention setting (Section 4.2), after which it is deleted by Google.
  • Browser storage: the dd_cookie_consent entry stays in your browser until you clear it.
  • Hosting and CDN logs: kept by those providers according to their own schedules.

We may keep information longer when the law requires it or when we need it to resolve a dispute.

9. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information, including serving the Site over HTTPS through Cloudflare and relying on providers that maintain their own security programs. The Site is a static website with no user accounts and no database of visitor information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us.

10. Your privacy rights

10.1 United States residents

Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, and other states with privacy laws), you may have the right to:

  • Know / access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have about you, and the sources, purposes, and categories of third parties we share it with;
  • Correct inaccurate personal information;
  • Delete the personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions;
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of; and
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

In the last 12 months, the categories of personal information we may have collected are identifiers (such as name, email address, phone number, IP address, and cookie IDs), commercial information (details of your project inquiry), internet or network activity (pages viewed and device and browser data, if you accept analytics), and approximate geolocation. We collect these for the purposes in Section 6 and disclose them to the service providers in Section 5. We do not sell personal information and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information. We have no actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

To make a request, email [email protected] or call (205) 422-1737 and tell us what you would like to do. We may need to verify your identity, for example by confirming the email address you used to contact us, before acting on a request. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We aim to respond within 45 days (or the period your state's law requires). If we deny a request, you may be able to appeal by replying to our response, and you may contact your state attorney general.

Some of these laws apply only to businesses above certain size or data-volume thresholds. We choose to honor these requests for all US visitors where we reasonably can.

10.2 Visitors from the EEA, UK, and Switzerland

Under GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to our processing, receive a copy of the data you gave us in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at https://ico.org.uk; EEA authorities are listed at https://edpb.europa.eu). To exercise your rights, contact us using the details in Section 1. We do not currently have an appointed representative in the EU or UK.

11. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

The Site does not read or respond to the browser "Do Not Track" setting. It also does not read the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal (https://globalprivacycontrol.org/). However, Google Analytics loads only after you click Accept, so visitors who decline, ignore the banner, or block scripts are not tracked by Google Analytics on the Site, whatever their browser signals say. Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, there is no sale or sharing for a GPC signal to opt you out of.

12. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Links to other websites

The Site links to third-party websites, such as our profiles on GitHub and CodePen, the author profile on X linked from our articles, and sites mentioned in our articles. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their privacy policies before you share information with them.

14. International transfers

We are based in the United States, and the Site is hosted and delivered through a global content delivery network. If you visit from outside the United States, your information, including what is sent to Google, Cognito Forms, Cloudinary, Sevalla, and Cloudflare, may be processed in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from yours. Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework certifications or standard contractual clauses that our providers maintain. Cloudinary, for example, states that it participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make a material change to how we use personal information, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, for example with a notice on the Site. Please check back periodically.
